Finding God in the Mess Day 3
The Power of Progress
Devotional
Sometimes we get discouraged because we're not where we think we should be in our spiritual journey. We look at our slow progress and feel like giving up. But God isn't looking for overnight perfection - He's interested in steady progress. Jacob's transformation didn't happen in a day; it was a journey of many years and experiences. God worked gradually in his life, just as He works in ours.
Bible Verse
These are the generations of Isaac, Abraham's son: Abraham fathered Isaac, and Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebekah to be his wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Aramean of Paddan-aram, the sister of Laban the Aramean. - Genesis 25:19-20
Reflection Question
Where have you seen progress in your spiritual journey, even if it's small? How might celebrating small steps forward change your perspective on growth?
Quote
Practice doesn't make perfect, but practice will produce progress.
Prayer
God, thank you for the progress You're working in my life, even when I can't see it. Help me to trust Your timing and celebrate the small steps forward. Give me patience with the process. Amen.
