Saved by Grace, Living by Faith Day 5
The Only Way Home
Devotional
In our pluralistic society, the exclusive claims of Christianity can feel uncomfortable. We're taught that all paths lead to God and that sincerity is what matters most. But Jesus made a startling claim that cuts against this grain: "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." This isn't about religious arrogance—it's about the nature of our problem and its solution. Our separation from God isn't primarily about lack of knowledge or effort; it's about sin. And sin requires more than education or determination to overcome—it requires atonement. Jesus is the only one who provides this. The good news is that while there is only one way to heaven, it's a way that's open to everyone. Jesus doesn't discriminate based on your past, your failures, or your struggles. The door He provides is accessible to all who come in faith. When we find Jesus, everything else falls into place. Our past no longer defines us. Our failures no longer condemn us. Our struggles no longer defeat us. We find not just a way to heaven, but a companion for the journey and a purpose for living. Today, rejoice that the way to God has been made clear and accessible through Jesus Christ.
Bible Verse
"For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus." - Romans 3:23
Reflection Question
How would you explain to someone who believes all religions lead to God why Jesus claimed to be the only way to the Father?
Quote
"Without Jesus, there is no door. But Jesus says, I'm the door. You don't have to find all of the solutions to the theological question questions or answer all of the questions of the universe. What you do have to do is find Jesus."
Prayer
Jesus, thank You for being the way, the truth, and the life. Thank You for making a path to heaven when I had no way to reach it on my own. Help me to walk confidently in this truth and to share it lovingly with others who are searching. I'm grateful that You found me and made a way for me to come home. Amen.
